The Wailers: Tall Cool One (1964, Superb & Classic)

ALBUM INFO

Here's a reissue of the Wailers' Imperial album from the early '60s, after the original version of "Tall Cool One" on Golden Crest had charted once again. Frustrated with their deal with the New York label, the group went into the studio, recut their hit, and packaged it with a brace of loose instrumental workouts and a trio of vocals. One of those vocals is the original Northwest cut of "Louie Louie," featuring an inspired vocal by the legendary Rockin' Robin Roberts, being the version that inspired the Kingsmen and launched a million frat bands worldwide. Another chapter in the history of this very important and influential Northwest rock & roll band.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITES...A MUST HAVE FOR ME... A CLASSIC... EXCELLENT INSTRUMENTAL, AND THE KILLER COMBINATION OF THE WAILERS, GARAGE WITH CLASSIC ROCK... A TRULLY BEAUTY.

Oy I wish this wasn't only on rapidshare... there is a hole in my heart the exact size of Wailers "Live At the Castle" (I believe... Also believe it's the same castle as mentioned in "Spanish Castle Music...). In the Northwest right?

It's the same holy one, indeed. I had the great privilege to grow up in the Pacific Northwest in the 60s and spent most every Saturday at Lake Hills or Parkers, and once in a while made the pilgrimage to Midway and the Castle itself. Sonics, Wailers, Don & the Goodtimes...great times, great music. Many, many thanks!
