As they should, these lads were one of the biggest bands to ever come out of Rhodesia, a former British colony in southern Africa turned into a quasi-apartheid state until nationalist struggles kicked out White rule and turned the land into the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe. While the Spears spent their early years in Rhodesia, they made their mark while living in Belgium. Thus, their records, while sought out, are not too difficult to find. (crud-crud)Pretty damn good songs here. Fast pop, beat rock, of course covers of all kinds. Dig it.

It was a great pleasure to listen for the first time the instrumentals tracks of the Pretty Things on the Electic Banana albums.
I remember very well the Shakespears(with long hairs)performing a great psyche track "burning my finger" in a 1968 French TV show.

does anybody have an album/compilation with the Shake Spears song "Don't Play Funny Games"? I had it and now have no idea where it went...Such an awesome song too.
