Despite their lack of commercial success or appeal, the band managed to record three albums and various EPs and singles between 1963 and 1966, with detours into country-rock and an EP of death-rock tunes. Although they recorded afterwards, it is the Sect's early work that continues to attract connoisseurs of '60s garage and punk.Again... a must, 10 pts for me. Dos grandes discos, solo te falta el primero.
El bajo de este grupo es muy curioso, parece que esta ligeramente desafinado y eso lo hace destacar, ademas las lineas que hace que son muy atípicas (sobretodo en los ultimo temas del disco "the rock sect`s in")ya que son progresiones que recuerdan a walkings de jazz (El bajista, en este caso, recorre casi todas las notas desde la mas grave hasta la mas aguda de manera muy lineal). Es interesante porque muchos grupos dejan al bajo muy atrás, pero aqui sobresale claramente. Una cosa mas que les hace una gran banda. A mi me impresionaron.

Always intrigued by the Sect, but have to say that yes their sound is raw, but sometimes so raw as to be unbearable. And still I keep listening expecting it get cooking. Thanks for sharing. Love the blog overall.
