V.A.: On the scene (UK, 1964)

Stuart said: Never mind, here's a great LP of British beat and R'n'B, released in the UK on the Columbia label in 1964, called "On The Scene".
It's definitely not in mint condition (!!!) but the crackles make it sound nice and authentic, and that's why I haven't replaced some of the tracks with 7"s in better condition...

REALLY COOL!
I enjoyed listening to this comp, with several well known tracks but also a couple I never heard…great version of “Money Honey” by Mickie Most and the Gear for example.
I love The Zephyrs take of “I can tell”, somebody should put together all their recordings!
It’s great to hear this album and imagining people listening to it in 1964 when perhaps they thought of no big difference between the Cheynes or the Yardbirds!
One of the lesser known bands here would record some wild stuff and while my link to a homemade comp of their stuff died (and nobody requested it since!) you can still enjoy their mental appearance on the Beat Room in 1964…here are those crazy, howlin’ SYNDICATS!

Thank you!

Hi Pablo / Aldo,

Glad you both enjoyed it, and hope Don does now that Pablo's posted it on Megaupload! I'll see what else I can dig out and try to get something else posted up over the weekend...

Cheers,

Stuart

p.s. Aldo - you REALLY need to get that Syndicats compilation of yours back up!!! :D

Cheers!! I have been after this album since the mid-sixties. This album is as good as Scene 65(which I have got)& is similar to this album.
Thank you.
