Kinksize Session (Pye NEP 24200)Predictably it flopped as did the follow-up, You Still Want Me, a Ray Davies original from the same session. By this time, though, they'd been the subject of much music press hype and had an appearance on 'Ready Steady Go' under their belt. The big breakthrough came with their third single, the Louie Louie influenced You Really Got Me. It's insistent riff powered what was a classic single to No. 1 in the UK in the Summer of 1964 and it also got to No. 7 in the US. Its style very much set the tone for all their singles in this early period.

Simplesmente AMO os temas dos primeiros anos dos Kinks!
Comentando rapidamente cada faixa:
- Louie, Louie: até difícil falar alguma coisa. Para mim, uma das melhores versões (juntamente com a do The Sonics), o jeito que eles dividiram e entoam o Louie no refrão é único nas versões deste tema.
- I Gotta Go Now: um típico tema dos The Kinks desta época. Guitarras Beat e swingadas, vocais melódicos, um refrão calmo mas com versos empolgantes.
- Things Are Getting Better: só escrevo uma coisa: solo de gaita explosivo!
- I've Got That Feeling: tema mais doce, mas não menos potente. O timbre e os acordes são Kinks ao extremo.
Grande idéia esta de postar 'jovens' temas desta incrível banda que são os Kinks!
Inclusive, pois me parecem ligeiramente diferentes dos temas contidos nos álbuns.
Totally agree, one of the finest versions of louie louie, (is not that raw as the Sonics one, little bit poppier perhaps/softer too)
